What is APEC?
APEC is an abbreviation for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation. Established in 1989, APEC is now made up of 21 Economies in the Asia Pacific Region.
APEC’s main purpose is to leverage the growing interdependency of the region by aiming to create greater prosperity for the people of the Asia-Pacific Region by promoting balanced, inclusive, sustainable, innovative and secure growth and accelerating regional economic integration.
The 21 APEC member economies are: Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, The Philippines, The Russian Federation, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, The United States of America, and Viet Nam.

How much does it cost to attend the APEC CEO Summit 2018?
Premium Seating Delegate (Main Theatre) = AUD 4,150
General Seating Delegate (Viewing Theatre) = AUD 2,760
General Seating Delegate (Viewing Theatre – PNG Resident) = AUD 2,070
If you are an accompanying spouse or support staff staying on the Ship and NOT attending the APEC CEO Summit, no registration fees apply.
When will the P&O Cruise Liner “The Pacific Explorer” be in Port Moresby, PNG?
The ship will arrive in Port Moresby on Tuesday 13 November 2018. Delegates staying on board the Ship may board from 6am.
The ship will depart on Tuesday 20 November 2018. Delegates staying on board the ship must disembark by Monday 19 November 2018.
What accommodation options are available for delegates attending the Summit?
By now all hotels in Port Moresby, PNG are fully booked out during Leaders Week (13 November to 18 November 2018).
Delegates invited to attend the Summit can be accommodated on the P&O Cruise Liner “The Pacific Explorer”.

Rates are inclusive of food (breakfast, lunch & dinner), and excludes room service, drinks (aside from standard coffee, tea and service water) and select restaurants/cafes/bars onboard. Cabins are also GST Free and rates are inclusive of tips and service charges. Rates are per cabin, NOT per individual. Room configurations are Single, Twin, Triple and Quad (subject to availability).

What commercial airlines fly direct to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea?
Air Niugini is the official Flag carrier of Papua New Guinea.
Qantas, Virgin and Philippines Air are other international airlines with direct flights to Port Moresby.
Will there be airport transfers?
Yes. Complimentary and secure transport will be provided for all registered delegates. Delegates will be met on arrival at the airport and shuttle buses will be available to key destinations throughout Leaders Week.
What are the weather conditions in Papua New Guinea in November?
Port Moresby has a mean maximum of 31 degrees Celsius during the day and 27 degrees Celsius at night. November is generally the start of the PNG rainy season (which ends in March), however PNG is not prone to any typhoons or major storms.
